Perth – Moving from strength to strength.

On the back of the mining industry boom, the city of Perth in Western Australia has reaped the benefits of being positioned within one of the wealthiest regions in the world. The state government is currently injecting record numbers of state capital in infrastructure projects that are bound to change the very face of the city and its surrounding areas. Their goal is to promote the Mediterranean climate, outdoor lifestyle and friendly spirit of this vibrant city by creating venues and places that would be able to sustain and accommodate its enormous growth.

The projects include the new 14,000 seat indoor entertainment and sports complex in the heart of the CBD, the highly anticipated 60,000 seat outdoor sports stadium to house large sporting events, and not to mention the redevelopment of the Perth city waterfront that will be the new focal point of the city for its visitors and residents.

So what justifies all this investment in development and infrastructure? Perth has been projected to grow by an average of 42% by 2027. That is an extra 680,000 people in 18 years, on top of the already 1.6 million. Compared to the rest of Australia, this is well above average. According to the Residential Development Council in conjunction with Matusik Property Insights, their latest report projected Australia to grow by 27% by 2027. This places Perth only behind Brisbane as the best growth city in the country. Continuous public and private investment in housing, education and infrastructure is bound to show good opportunities and returns for investors and residents over the coming years.

In the latest Economist Intelligence Unit for the most liveable city in the world, with the survey point scored according to health care, stability, culture, environment, education and infrastructure, Perth came 5th with Vancouver in Canada topping the chart. It truly is a place that has a lot to offer, from and scenic and bustling summer city beaches of Cottesloe and Scarborough, to café’s, restaurants, shopping and vibrant nightlife in Fremantle, Northbridge, CBD and Subiaco. If pursuing the great outdoors, then dare to venture a bit further up or down the west coast towards the unspoilt terrain and wildlife parks that has attracted travellers and backpackers for many years. The wine regions of the Swan Valley and Margaret River boast strong local economies that benefit from the good tourism and export sales of fine wines produced in these regions.
